Your new Kia Optima Hybrid is an award-winning gas hybrid version of the equally award winning Kia Optima mid-sized sedan from Mid Rivers Kia. Designed like a grand tourer, it is one of designer Peter Schreyer's most popular renderings. While it looks almost identical to its conventional gas direct injection brother, it does require a slightly different service schedule to keep it in perfect running order. That's why Kia has suggests following the service schedule that is published in your Kia Optima Hybrid owner's manual. Come to Mid Rivers Kia where we have been factory trained to keep your Optima Hybrid running like new. The service schedule of your Kia Optima Hybrid is based on 7,500-mile operation intervals. There are specific tasks that are needed that will make sure your Optima from Mid Rivers Kia is running properly. Why bring it here? Simple answer: Nobody knows your Kia Optima better than the factory-trained mechanics in our Kia Service department.
Even though the Kia Optima Hybrid is powered by a hybrid electric powerplant, it still has, at its base a gasoline-poweredengine and as a result, still needs motor oil as its lubricant. Your Kia Owner's Manual suggests changing the oil every 7,500 miles, and each 7,500 miles thereafter. We suggest using a quality Synthetic Oil that is long-lasting and able to withstand the rigors of thermal breakdown from high heat. Change the oil filter at this point, and you will be good to go, knowing that it is in place to trap any particle or debris that might try to work its way inside the engine. Following that, your Kia of Mid Rivers mechanic will also perform various inspections including the High Speed Gear (HSG) belt which needs to be checked periodically. They will also inspect the vacuum hose, the cabin air cleaner and finish with a tire rotation that will help insure your Optima has even tire wear at all four corners. At 15,000 miles it's time once again for an oil and filter change as well as a tire rotation. A more extensive round of inspections also occurs, which examines the air conditioning coolant, the engine and in-cabin air filters, the HSG belt, vacuum hoses, brake hoses and lines as well as the brake pads and rotors, the drive boots, the integrity of the exhaust system and the power steering system. Then you are on your way!
The service at 22,500 miles, will be the occasion for another light service which includes a synthetic oil change and an inspection of the air filter, another quick look at the HSG belt, and a multi-point inspection that will top off the fluids, a check of the vacuum hose, and make sure that all service campaigns and recall notices have been taken care of. Finally, your Mid Rivers Kia service mechanic will cap it off by rotating your tires to allow for equal wear at all four corners.
At the 30,000-mile mark, it's time for a heavier going over to make sure all the parts are functioning properly on your Kia Optima Hybrid. Once again it's time for the quick going over of the HSG belt, and both the in-cabin and engine air filters. Then there is another inspection of the brake pads and rotors, the A/C Coolant, parking brakes, drive shaft boots and the actual drive shafts. Finally, we can't forget the oil change and tire rotation, followed by a multi-point inspection and a check for any outstanding service campaigns and other notices. This alternating schedule of light duty/heavy duty maintenance will continue throughout the life of your Kia Optima Hybrid from Mid Rivers Kia. The advisors, technicians and mechanics in our service department, will suggest if your Kia Optima Hybrid spends a lot of time driving in extreme conditions such as stop and go traffic, or driving up and down mountainous grades or through the heat of a dry, desert, that your oil changes should occur more frequently. Your Kia service mechanic will recommend changing at 3,750 miles, instead.
At Mid Rivers Kia, we give you a choice! You may choose to drop your Optima Hybrid off for its scheduled service, to be picked up later. Constantly correcting is fun when you are a kid but not when you are behind the wheel of your Mid Rivers Kia Optima Hybrid. Drifting slightly left or right is a sign that your car may need an all-wheel-alignment. To get straight again, head to the service mechanics at Mid Rivers Kia, where they will rotate your tires before performing the alignment. Windshield wipers on your Mid Rivers Kia Optima are one of the most important pieces of safety equipment on your new vehicle. They routinely live outside in the elements which include high heat and humidity, or on the other hand, extreme cold. While the heat makes them break down, sometimes turning to powder, the extreme cold can make them brittle and break. If you find them squeaking and creaking or moaning and groaning, that means it's time for a change. That's why your Mid Rivers Kia service advisors will suggest you to change them every six months. The parts and service department at Mid Rivers Kia has exactly what you need! Stop in today for service, advice, parts and more.
Tired out: Unlike Diamonds, tires aren't forever. There is no getting around it. How will you know they need to be replaced? Here's a quick test you can perform, and best of all, it will only cost you a penny! With the "Abe Lincoln Penny Test," you pull out a crisp new Lincoln penny featuring our 16th president, Abe Lincoln. Place Honest Abe headfirst into the tire tread. Sinking up to his ears means you have plenty of tread remaining. On the other hand, if the top of his head is visible, replace those tired tires right away! Mid Rivers Kia has the correct replacement tires for your Optima Hybrid and all at competitive market prices. As we have said too often, bald only looks good on babies, bald eagles and some old men.
