The Kia Rio is a little car that in reality is a giant. It might even grow up to be a Kia Sorento one day. We aren't here to talk about future aspirations, but instead, the here and now of Kia car care.

Your Kia Rio works according to a 7,500-mile interval. That's the time your Mid Rivers Kia Mechanic will perform basic maintenance that includes a synthetic oil and oil filter change, a tire rotation, a check of the in-cabin air filter, the engine air filter and the vacuum hoses. We at Mid Rivers recommend using a high-performance synthetic motor oil for its long lifespan and the ability to laugh in the face of high heat and humidity.
At 15,000 miles or as we like to call it, "lap number 2," your next service is due. Your Mid Rivers mechanic starts by replacing the synthetic motor oil and oil filter in your Kia Rio. The tire rotation is next and shouldn't be treated lightly. Front tires go to the back, and the back tires to the opposite front. It's a bit confusing but can be more easily understood by consulting your Kia Rio Owner's Manual. Other more extensive checks, including an exam of the air filter element and a new in-cabin air filter will occur at this time. They continue on with a check of the a/c compressor and coolant as well as a look-see of the entire braking system including rotors, pads, hoses and lines. At that point they'll look at the drive boots, the drive shafts, the steering system, and the integrity of the exhaust system, too. Then, it's on to your 22,500 service interval for another light service interval.

At the 30,000-mile mark, your Mid Rivers Kia Rio is just getting started. After checking the engine air filter during each of the previous service intervals, this time they will actually replace it, so your Rio can breathe freely. Of course, there's another synthetic oil and oil filter change, along with the requisite tire rotation to help achieve a long life from your tires. From there, they will inspect the battery condition and vacuum hoses to make sure your Rio engine is free flowing. Once again it's time for a look-see at the driveshaft and driveshaft boots, the braking system including front and rear brake pads, rotors and brake fluid lines and an integrity check of the exhaust system. Finally, your Mid Rivers Kia multi-point inspection tops off all the vital fluids, and makes sure there are no recall notices or service campaigns that need to be taken care of.
But that's not all, folks! Let's talk about your driving conditions. Do you find yourself running in heavy stop and go traffic, or for periods of long idling? What about running up and down mountainous routes or through sandy arid deserts? If you do any of this on a regular basis, your Kia of Mid Rivers service advisor would advise bringing your Kia Rio in for service sooner than your prescribed service interval. Such extreme driving conditions could cause your oil and filters to become used up quicker than normal.
Lane Drift.

A vehicle that is out of alignment is one that could be subject to several issues down the road. In addition to having it drift to the left or the right unnaturally, it can also cause distracted driving by constantly having to cause course corrections, and finally it can cause your tires to wear down sooner than normal. An all-wheel-alignment is not only smart, and saves you money, it makes your Kia Rio safer as well. Just remember to have your tires rotated before the alignment. Contact your Mid Rivers Kia service advisor and your Kia Rio Owner's Manual for more information.
Did you know windshield wipers are a piece of safety equipment on your Kia Rio? That's right. Think of it. If they are not in top shape they begin to cloud up as they operate or they will creak and groan. What causes that? Well, consider for a moment that they live outside in the elements. Subjected to daily dosages of high heat, UV rays and humidity, the rubber breaks down quickly. The same if they are in the extreme cold where they can potentially become brittle and break. The Mid Rivers Kia Parts department suggests changing them every six months. Come in today. Mid Rivers Kia has exactly what you need!
We all want some things to last forever: The life of a favorite pet. That great European vacation. Summer. We get it. But tires don't. They naturally wear out after about 35,000- 40,000 miles. But if you don't check them regularly they may decide to check out, sooner. Much sooner. That's why Mid Rivers Kia carries all the proper sized tires for your Kia Rio and other Kia vehicles. Examine them monthly by checking their inflation and the condition of their tread and sidewalls. Do the Abe Lincoln Penny Test. The test allows anyone the chance to see their tire status and best of all, it will only cost you a penny! Place the penny headfirst into the tire tread. If Abe ends up with rubber to his ears, (not in them) you have plenty of tread remaining. On the other hand, if you can see the top of his pate, it's time for a change, right away! Check with your Mid Rivers service advisor for more information and tires at competitive prices.
